Future European ATM System

The future of European ATM is largely shaped by the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) programme. ADV contributes to SESAR through its partnership with EUROCONTROL and is currently working in connection with:

  • WPB to address the Target Concept and Architecture Maintenance in the frame of EAEA (see ATM System Architecture). We’re onboard SWP 4.2 and SWP 4.3 to support EUROCONTROL on the modelling of the SESAR ConOps ATM services and processes and on the high-level development of the associated logical and technical system architecture;

    Based on an operational scenario describing the operation by phase, the different work packages work at developing a process model with different levels of detail in the description. The work is done through organised workshop involving operation experts from all domains (airport, airspace user, network, ATC..) and modellers to capture in a graphical way what is decided on how the operation takes place.
  • WP7 to address Trajectory Management and Demand Capacity Balancing (see ATFCM and Network). We support the Central Flow Management Unit on their short-term ATFCM development programme (notably STAM activities) that will enable the deployment of IP1 and the achievement of the SESAR Step 1 maturity level (time-based operations).
