ADV Systems: connecting the engineering & operational worlds

ADV combines its experience of concept development and its knowledge of ATM operations to propose thorough expertise intended to tackle the issues challenging the future of ATM. We offer support to ATM stakeholders in their endeavour to shape tomorrow’s ATM.

Our added-value lies in our ability to interface:

  • On the one hand those involved in the use of operations and systems: Air Traffic Controllers, Flow Managers, Airspace Managers, Aircraft Operators, Airport Operators etc.;
  • On the other hand those designing systems, namely engineers of all kinds: concept designers, software developers, testers etc.

A smooth, open dialogue between users and designers is paramount in ATM, a safety-critical activity involving complex and bespoke systems resulting from long development cycles.

ADV acts as a catalyst for the users / designers dialogue. We’re able to understand the users’ needs and expectations, formalise them and translate them into requirements, down to a granularity level that is easily workable for development purposes.

The dialogue we intend to facilitate between designers and users is enabled by the dialogue we systematically establish between:

  • ADV’s in-house consultants (engineers specialised in air transport / aviation / aeronautics) who have the flexibility and open-mindedness required to address various projects;
  • Freelance consultants (operational experts, usually retired from the ATM sector – typically former controllers and pilots) hired on purpose to bring ad-hoc expertise to the project.

We have successfully delivered expertise in areas of ATM such as:
